Paid apps now available on BlackBerry App World

RIM has announced an update to the BlackBerry App World that now allows local users to purchase applications using their credit cards.

The BlackBerry App World is the official application store for BlackBerry smartphones that up until now, only allowed local users to download free applications.

Other new features in the updated BlackBerry App World include enhanced discovery and search capabilities, and a new user identification system called BlackBerry ID.

In terms of enchanced discovery, BlackBerry App World now has new tabbed sections for various lists of applications. Users can horizontally swipe or scroll to quickly view the Top 25 Free Apps, Top 25 Paid Apps and Top 25 Themes, as well as lists of the newest apps and recently updated apps.
