Samsung Galaxy Tab Rises as First Rival for Apple iPad
Apple is now facing a competitor in the tablet market after Samsung released its own tablet computer Thursday, September 2 in Berlin, Germany at the IFA electronics fair.
The Galaxy Tab will try to compete with the popular iPad. The new gadget measures at 7.4 x 4.7 x 0.47 inches while the multi-touch touch screen is at 7 inches, making it smaller than the Apple counterpart. It weighs at 380 grams and comes at two variations, the 16GB and the 32GB. It will run using Android 2.2 operating system. It has a 512 memory and some things that the iPad lack: a micro-SD slot, multitasking OS and a camera (3 MP).
